Plant Care

  • Asparagus ferns do best in bright but indirect light, out of direct sunshine. They need a minimum temperature of 13°C.
  • Keep away from draughts and radiators. Asparagus setaceus in particular thrives in humidity, so a bright bathroom is the ideal place for it.
  • Asparagus ferns love water and do not like to dry out. Feel the top soil: it should be moist but not wet when watering it again.
  • Squeeze a bit of soil between your fingers - if water seeps out it's still wet.
  • If the soil is wet - snooze this action, we will remind you again in 2 days.
  • Asparagus ferns perform best in organically rich, well-drained soil. Drought-tolerant once they're established in the garden, the plants should be kept evenly moist.
  • If you grow asparagus ferns as houseplants, you can move them outdoors to a shaded porch in warmer months.

  • Asparagus fern is valued as an ornamental for its bright green, arching stems and airy foliage.
  • Its fine foliage gives a soft or fluffy appearance and can be used to good effect for textural contrast in combination with plants having medium or coarse-textured foliage or very large leaves.
  • The asparagus fern is a natural detoxifier for your body.
  • Along with helping with pain and inflammation, the fern can even help fight against cancer and osteoarthritis.
  • The herb is known for detoxifying your body and relieving it of any stress that is caused by injury or disease.
  • The Asparagus Fern, also known at the Asparagus plumosus, can tolerate lower light conditions very well - in fact, it likes to avoid indirect sunlight altogether.
  • As a result, it's one of the best plants for shady bedrooms and dull corners that need a little life.
