Description

Plant Care

• Watering - Hibiscus plants like to be watered, but not overwatered. Water when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch. Containers may need to be watered 3–4 times weekly at the beginning of summer and daily toward the end of summer. In the winter, when the plant is dormant, it may not drink as much.
• Pruning - Hibiscus plants respond well to pruning during warm weather. Cut back the plant by about half in the early spring to maintain a nice shape and encourage growth. More branches means more flowers.
• Pests - Check the plants weekly for aphids, whiteflies, and spider mites. If you discover an infestation, apply a horticultural oil or insecticidal soap to the affected areas.
