The Poinsettia red plant, scientifically known as Euphorbia pulcherrima, is a popular flowering plant associated with the holiday season, especially Christmas. It is native to Mexico and Central America. The plant is characterized by its vibrant red leaves, called bracts, which are often mistaken for flowers.

Product Constituents

  • Poinsettia Red
  • 5" Selfwatering recyclable plastic pot
  • Description Tag
  • Healthy soil mix

Plant Care

  • Light - Place your poinsettia in a bright, indirect light location with a temperature of around 13–15°C. Avoid direct sunlight, which can cause the bracts to fade and the foliage to dry out.
  • Watering - Check the soil every week and water only when the surface is dry to the touch. Allow the water to drain out of the pot, then dump out any excess from the saucer. Poinsettias don't like to be water-logged.
  • Fertilizing - Fertilize your poinsettia while it's blooming every couple of weeks or on a monthly basis.
  • Mist - Mist the leaves and bracts regularly to increase humidity and keep the bracts looking their best for longer.
  • Temperature - Protect your plant from freezing temperatures, especially when transporting it. Poinsettias do best in rooms between 55 and 65°F at night and 65 to 70°F during the day.
